Google Ads Account Suspension | How to Get It Back
A Google Ads account suspension means ads stop instantly and access to the account is restricted. It usually happens without warning, and the first reaction is panic. On this page I explain the path to resolving it in the shortest way.
First, read the cause correctly
The suspension notice usually shows a broad policy heading, and that heading does not always state the real problem clearly. An appeal made without diagnosing the cause gets rejected, and every rejection lengthens the process.
The most common headings are: unverified advertiser identity, suspicion around the payment method, content on the site judged misleading, advertising in a restricted category, and being linked to a previously suspended account.
Verification-driven suspensions
Google requires identity and business verification from advertisers. When documents are not uploaded, or the information in them does not match the account, the account can be suspended.
The most frequent mistake here is a difference between the legal name on the document and the business name in the account. It is relatively easy to fix, but the documents must be consistent. When the advertiser verification process is done properly from the start, most of these suspensions never happen.
Site-driven suspensions
The review looks not only at your ad but at your site. Missing contact details, absent return and privacy pages, an insecure checkout page, or a promise in the ad with no counterpart on the site all cause problems.
These items overlap with the policy violation side. Appealing before making the fixes wastes time — the review sees the same problem again and rejects again.
The appeal process
The right order is: diagnose the cause, actually make the fix, then appeal. Writing concretely what changed in the appeal moves faster than appeals written in general terms.
Opening a new account while suspended is the most dangerous mistake. Google detects it and suspends the new account too; worse, it reduces the chance of the original being reinstated. However long the process takes, you have to work through the existing account.
How do we start? First I review the notice and the account’s history to work out the real cause. I list the fixes needed and we prepare the appeal together. You can reach me from the contact page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will a suspended account definitely be reinstated?
There is no guarantee. Most verification- and site-driven suspensions can be resolved; but serious or repeated policy violations can lead to permanent closure. Nobody can guarantee reinstatement — be wary of anyone who does.
How long does the process take?
It varies. Simple verification issues can be resolved in days, complex cases stretch into weeks. Since every rejected appeal extends it, getting the first appeal right is critical.
Can I advertise in the meantime?
Not from the suspended account. Temporarily shifting weight to other channels such as Meta is reasonable during this period, but the real fix is getting the account back.
