AI Search Brand Tracking
Running an audit once and implementing the fixes is a good start — but AI answers aren’t static. Models get updated, your competitors publish content, the sources written about you change. You could have been mentioned last month and not this month, and you have no way of noticing, because the lost visit never happens in the first place.
Brand tracking ties this to regular measurement: I ask the same set of questions the same way every month, compare the results to the previous month, and show what changed.
What Gets Measured in the Tracking
Mention rate — how many answers your brand appears in, across the questions we’ve defined. Not a single answer — a ratio drawn from repeated queries.
Competitor comparison — which brands get mentioned ahead of you on the same questions. This is often the most instructive part — when we dig into why a competitor keeps getting mentioned, there’s usually a concrete reason.
Source tracking — which sites the AI cites when giving its answer. Does your site show up as a source, or is it a page someone else wrote about you?
Change — what went up, what went down compared to the previous month. This is where the real value is; not a single snapshot, but a curve.
What You Get in the Report
A short monthly document: rates, a competitor table, what changed this month, and a recommended action if there is one. I don’t produce long presentations — a summary you can read in one page, with a detail table underneath.
If nothing changed, I write “no change this month.” I don’t pad the report to fill pages; since I work hourly, a padded report is bad for both of us.
For Agencies
I also offer this service white-label. If you’re an agency wanting to offer your clients AI visibility reports, I do the measurement, the report goes out under your name, and I stay invisible to your client. Tracking multiple brands at once also lowers the per-unit cost.
Who This Service Isn’t For
If you haven’t done any GEO work yet, don’t start with tracking — there’s no change to measure. Get the AI visibility audit first to see the baseline issues, complete the technical groundwork, and tracking will mean something after that.
Also, if you’re a very small, narrowly local business, monthly tracking might be overkill; checking in quarterly may be enough. We can work that out together.
How do we start? We build the question set and competitor list to track together, then take the first measurement to establish the baseline. Reach me via the contact page.
Frequently Asked Questions
There are software tools that automate this — why do I need you?
Tools exist, and some are good. The difference is this: a tool gives you a number, not the reason behind it. When your mention rate drops, a tool shows you that, but it doesn’t answer “why did it drop, what should I do.” I already automate the measurement itself with AI agents; what I’m selling you isn’t the measurement — it’s the interpretation of the measurement.
How often is the measurement taken?
Monthly by default. If you’re in a fast-moving sector or have an active GEO effort underway, we can move to every two weeks. More frequent measurement usually just produces noise — I don’t recommend it.
How many questions get tracked?
Generally 20-40. Fewer doesn’t show a pattern; more raises the cost without adding much information. We keep the question set fixed so the comparison stays meaningful — if we add a new question, I flag it separately.
Is there a contract or minimum term?
No. As with all my other work, I don’t sell long contracts here either. You decide every month whether to continue; when you want to stop, all you have to do is say so.
How do I work?
Work-hour packages
Tell me about your website and what you need on WhatsApp or by phone; we agree on a work block of somewhere between 5 and 40 hours and I start doing what is needed. What you get is not a calendar window — it is net working hours spent directly on your business. I can use 40 hours working three days straight, or deliberately spread it out and finish it over a year — whatever the work calls for. I do not spend my time estimating how long something will take, I spend it doing the work; every hour I spend has a lasting result on your site. We keep going for as long as you find it useful.
Why not monthly?
Is 40 hours a week?
On a fixed monthly fee both sides are watching the wrong thing: you watch a fixed cost, the other side watches how many more contracts like this they can line up. Working by the hour puts us both in front of the same thing — the real value of the work that got done. I know not having an upfront answer to "how much will this cost in total?" is the natural cost of this model. But instead of paying a fixed fee for months to a setup that is not producing results, you only pay for the qualified time spent on your work — and you see exactly where that time went, start to finish. That is why my clients keep coming back.
