Clinic & Hospital Google Ads | Department-Level Campaigns
A multi-specialty clinic or hospital’s advertising needs differ from a single-service business. Users usually aren’t searching your brand — they’re searching a specific department or doctor: “cardiology appointment” or “check-up package” volumes far exceed brand searches.
Department-level structure is necessary
Lumping every department into one general campaign lets budget drift to the most popular one (usually check-up or aesthetics) while others stay invisible. Each department deserves its own ad group, its own keyword set, and its own landing page.
Without a department page, the ad drops onto a generic homepage and the user has to navigate to find what they searched for — which also drags down Quality Score and conversion.
Separate brand from service search
In a hospital with strong brand recognition, brand searches come in cheap and convert well; that isn’t a signal of real growth. Actual growth comes from service-based searches, and in reporting the two should be read separately.
Appointment measurement spans channels
Hospitals and clinics take bookings by phone, through an online booking system, or via WhatsApp. All channels need separate measurement; a setup that only measures the online form misses most of the real demand coming by phone.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should each department get its own budget?
Usually yes, at least proportional to demand volume. Equal distribution can starve a high-demand department while overspending on a low-demand one.
Can I advertise by individual doctor?
Yes, especially for well-known doctors — a dedicated page and campaign per doctor can make sense.
Does medical tourism need a separate strategy?
Yes, it requires different language and region targeting — usually a separate campaign structure and an EN page.
