Google Ads Expert | 20 Years of Account Experience

3 min read18 August 2026

Most profiles you find when searching for a Google Ads expert look alike: certificates, badges, claims of many happy clients. None of that tells you your account will be managed well. On this page I explain what you should actually look at, and how I work.

What a certificate shows, and what it does not

Google Ads certifications are earned through an online exam and renewed annually. They show you know the platform’s interface and vocabulary — a baseline requirement, not an advantage. Someone who passed the exam may never have managed a live account.

What you should ask is: how many years have you managed accounts, in which industries, at what budget range, and what do you do in the first week after taking one over. If the answer to the last question starts with opening campaigns, be careful; the right answer starts with verifying measurement.

How I work

I have been managing Google Ads for 20 years. Today I track more than 40 accounts at once, and I do it with AI agents: search term scanning, anomaly detection and report preparation run automatically. That way most of the time goes into making decisions.

Before taking over an account I always run an account audit. What I find most often is a measurement error: conversions have quietly stopped, the same event is counted twice, or smart bidding is targeting the wrong conversion action. Optimisation done before fixing that is guesswork.

What I do not do

I do not charge a percentage of your spend — that structure penalises cutting budget. I do not take on unlimited accounts; if I am at capacity, I say no. I do not promise guaranteed results, because part of the outcome in Google Ads depends on your product, your pricing and your landing page, and none of those are fully in my control.

I also do not write praise without numbers. If I describe a case, I say what was measured, over which period and from which starting point.

Expert or agency

If your budget is large, you advertise in several markets and need constant creative production, an agency model may suit you better. If you work in one market with a clear product or service, an independent expert usually produces decisions faster.

If someone on your team is learning this work, consider the consulting model too — there the account stays with you and I give direction.

How do we start? First a free 20-30 minute call. We look at your existing account and talk about what is realistic. If it fits, I send the scope and price in writing. You can reach me from the contact page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What question should I ask when choosing a Google Ads expert?

Ask what they would do in the first week after taking over the account. If the answer starts with verifying measurement, that is a good sign; if it starts with launching campaigns, be cautious.

Is working with an expert cheaper than an agency?

Usually yes, because there is no team and office overhead. But the real difference is not price, it is decision speed: with no intermediate layer, a problem can be addressed the same day it is spotted.

Can I learn to manage my own account?

Yes, especially if you are a single-product business with narrow targeting. On the Google Ads training page I explain who that path suits. Just remember to count the cost of the mistakes made while learning.
