Meeting Recording to Report | Audio to Text, Text to Summary

3 min read29 July 2026

Listening back to an hour-long meeting recording to pull out notes often takes longer than the meeting itself. Transcribing audio and extracting a decisions-and-actions list from that text has become a job AI-powered tools can finish in minutes.

This is the AI-accelerated version of “manual transcription” — a service that’s been in steady demand on platforms like Upwork for a long time. A job that takes hours to transcribe by hand, I can now deliver much faster, with reasonable accuracy, using the right tools.

From Audio Recording to Text, From Text to Summary

The first step is transcription — turning the audio recording into text. The second step is producing something meaningful out of that raw text: who said what, which decisions were made, who was assigned what. Raw transcript text ends up too long for anyone to want to read — the real value is in this second stage.

In Turkish recordings, accent, background noise, and overlapping speakers all affect accuracy. For lower-quality recordings, I manually review and correct the transcript rather than leaving it fully automated.

Decisions-and-actions list format

The report I deliver usually has three parts: a short summary (the meeting’s main topic and outcome), the decisions made, and a clear action list of who was assigned what. This format lets even someone who wasn’t in the meeting understand what happened in a few minutes.

If you want, the format can also be adapted to whatever template your team already uses in your project management tool — I don’t force a fixed format.

Automatic setup for recurring meetings

If you have meetings that repeat weekly or monthly (team meetings, client calls), we can turn this process into an automated flow instead of a one-off job: once the recording ends, transcription, summary, and action list get generated automatically and land in a designated channel (email, Slack, project management tool).

Whether you need a one-off job or an automated setup, we figure that out together in the intro call based on how often you meet.

How we start: a free 20-30 minute call first, where we talk through what you want and what’s realistic. If it makes sense, I send scope and price in writing, then we begin. Reach me via the contact page.

Frequently Asked Questions

My meeting recording is confidential — is it processed securely?

For sensitive meeting content, we talk this through upfront; I sign an NDA if needed and explain clearly where the data is processed. Not every meeting goes to every tool — I choose based on the sensitivity of the content.

How accurate is it for Turkish recordings?

Quite good for clearly spoken recordings with little background noise. Accuracy drops for crowded meetings with overlapping speech or low audio quality — in those cases, I add a manual correction step.

Can you process video recordings too?

Yes, I extract the audio from video and apply the same process. If the video content itself (screen share, a presentation) matters separately, I can note that too, but audio is the primary layer processed.

How long does delivery take?

It depends on the length and quality of the recording — same day for short, clear recordings, a few days for long, low-quality ones. Once we set up a recurring workflow, this turnaround shortens automatically.
