Tender & Spec Summarization | Never Miss a Bid
Tender specifications routinely run fifty, a hundred pages, and the critical information is scattered across all of them: the bid deadline in one place, the guarantee requirement somewhere else, technical eligibility requirements in a third section. Reading the whole document in one pass and keeping it all in your head is hard.
I go through the spec and pull the critical items into a single summary table: dates, guarantee amounts, required documents, technical requirements, and any clauses risky enough to cause disqualification. The goal is for the decision-maker to read one page instead of a hundred and decide whether to bid.
What Gets Summarized
The table includes: the final submission date and time, the guarantee letter amount and type, the list of required documents, a summary of the technical spec clauses, penalty and termination conditions, and the payment schedule. Every row also notes which page it came from, so you can go back to the original if you need to.
This isn’t legal interpretation — it’s a reading and organizing service. I make it clear what the spec actually says; whether to bid, and any legal interpretation, is a decision made by you and your lawyer, if you have one.
Risk and Contradiction Scanning
Long specs sometimes have sections that contradict each other, or clauses left ambiguous. I flag these separately, so if you have a window to ask the issuing authority questions (you usually do), you have the chance to clarify them.
This scan is especially valuable when the submission deadline is close — getting disqualified over a missed clause means months of preparation wasted.
Delivery Format
I deliver the summary as both a table and a short written assessment: a high-level view of whether bidding on this tender makes sense, and which clauses carry risk. The final decision is always yours.
How do we start? First, a free 20–30 minute intro call. We talk about what you want and what’s realistic. If it makes sense, I send the scope and price in writing, then we start. You can reach me from the contact page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this replace legal advice?
No. I read and organize the spec — I don’t provide legal interpretation or advice. For anything questionable or contentious, I’d always recommend consulting a lawyer.
What length of spec is this suited for?
This service generally saves time for specs over 30 pages. For shorter documents, you can probably read through them quickly yourself.
Do you also help determine bid pricing or strategy?
No, that’s outside the scope. I clarify what the spec requires; pricing and bid strategy are entirely your decision.
How long does delivery take?
It depends on the length of the spec, but most documents are summarized and delivered within 1–2 days. For urgent deadlines, we can talk about prioritizing it.
