Personal Finance Tracking System | Spending Structure

3 min read29 July 2026

Most people’s money problem isn’t “not earning enough” — it’s not being able to see where it’s going. Being surprised by the credit card statement, not understanding how you made it to the end of the month, not knowing how far you are from a savings goal — all of these are a missing system, not a missing piece of knowledge.

In this service, I build a simple system that categorizes your spending, tracks your savings goals, and gives you a clear summary every month. One important thing I need to state up front: this is not an investment advice service. The goal is purely structure and visibility — I’m not telling you where to put your money, I’m making it clear how much you’re spending and how much you’re saving.

How the Setup Works

First, I review your current spending habits (bank statements, credit card activity) and sort them into categories: fixed costs, variable costs, savings, discretionary spending. I customize these categories to your life — I don’t apply the same template to everyone.

When setting up the system, I don’t install complicated software; we usually work with a spreadsheet (Excel/Google Sheets) or, if you prefer, a simple app. The goal is a structure you can easily maintain yourself every month, not a system that needs me constantly involved.

Savings Goals and Monthly Summary

We define the goals you set (say, saving a specific amount within a year) into the system and build a simple indicator showing your progress each month. You can clearly see whether you’re ahead of or behind your target.

The monthly summary isn’t a long report — it’s a single page with the net amount, category-level spending, and progress toward the goal. Designed so you don’t waste time on complicated spreadsheets.

This Is Not Investment Advice

I want to make this clear again because it matters: this service does not offer advice on investing, stocks, currency, or which vehicle to put your money into. What I provide is purely structure — a system that shows you where your money is going and how much you’ve saved. For investment decisions, I recommend consulting a licensed advisor.

How do we start? First, a free 20–30 minute intro call. We talk about what you want and what’s realistic. If it makes sense, I send you the scope and price in writing, then we begin. Reach me through the contact page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to connect my bank or accounts?

No, it doesn’t require an automatic bank connection. You share your statements manually or via export, and I build the system around that. I don’t have direct access to your account information.

Will I need you every month after setup?

No, the goal is the exact opposite. I keep the system simple enough that you can maintain it on your own after setup. If you’d like, we can review it together at set intervals (say, every three months), but it’s not required.

I want investment recommendations — does this service cover that?

No. I draw this line intentionally, because giving investment advice requires a separate license and expertise. I build you structure; for your investment decisions, I recommend working with a licensed professional.

Is this suitable for a family budget, or just for individuals?

Both. Combining multiple people’s spending into a family budget requires a bit more setup, but it’s entirely possible. We shape it around your needs during the intro call.
