I build save-and-resume forms so applicants can keep a draft, return to the same record and see exactly what remains to be done. A saved draft is different from a submitted application. Saving preserves work in progress. Submission validates the required information and gives the team a record it can start processing. Keeping those states separate prevents an unfinished application from appearing ready for review. ## Example: APP-031 resumes at Documents In the fictional illustration, **APP-031** has completed **Contact**, is working on **Documents** and has not yet reached **Review**. The draft is saved. On returning through the agreed access method, the applicant selects **Continue with documents** and resumes the same application. Being on the second step does not mean that all required files are already present. Before final submission, the application checks the fields and upload results again. A file still uploading when the browser closed is not marked complete. Previously saved contact details remain available without asking the applicant to enter them again. ## Google Forms already has draft saving Google Forms can [save response progress](https://support.google.com/docs/answer/10952360?hl=en) under documented conditions for respondents using a Google account. The form owner can disable this, and automatic saving does not work offline. If that behaviour suits the process, a separate application is not justified merely by wanting a resume button. A custom flow is useful when drafts must follow your own sign-in method, deadlines, document requirements or status-based editing rules. It can connect to a [guest upload form](https://oguzerol.com/en/guest-file-upload-form/), but we still define exactly what access a return link grants. ## Handle two open copies of the same draft An applicant may open the form on both a phone and a computer. An old browser tab should not silently replace newer answers. I check the record version and show when a more recent change exists. If needed, the person reviews the conflicting fields before continuing. The last successful save and the final submission are separate events. Changes to the form itself also need a policy. A newly required answer should be presented clearly to someone returning to an older draft, rather than appearing as an unexplained error at the end. We decide what happens at the deadline: the draft may become read-only, expire or require an authorised extension. Pressing Submit repeatedly should still produce one application, with a visible result the applicant can rely on. ## Delivery and ongoing maintenance I document the steps, retention period, return method and submission criteria before development. Testing covers lost connections, expired invitations, incomplete uploads and competing edits. The screen reports a successful save only after the record has actually been stored. Once review begins, a separate [application status portal](https://oguzerol.com/en/application-status-tracking-portal/) can show which fields remain editable. Staff assignment and decisions can join the same [custom form workflow](https://oguzerol.com/en/custom-google-forms-alternative/). Maintenance includes form versions, expired draft handling and changes to the access method. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What happens when the internet connection drops? Information up to the last successful save remains stored. Unsaved input may require a separately designed offline feature. The interface should show the last successful save, rather than implying that every keystroke has reached the server. ### Can applicants edit after submission? That is a separate permission from editing a draft. We define it around the review process. Changing a critical field during review may require a new check before the application can continue. ## Discuss your workflow [Show me the form that people leave unfinished](https://oguzerol.com/en/contact/) and the information they need to gather. I can turn it into a clear sequence of saved work, remaining tasks and final submission. Work-hour packages Tell me about your business and what you need on WhatsApp or by phone; we agree on **a work block of somewhere between 5 and 40 hours** and I start doing what is needed. What you get is not a calendar window — it is net working hours spent directly on your business. I can use 40 hours working three days straight, or deliberately spread it out and finish it over a year — whatever the work calls for. I do not spend my time estimating how long something will take, I spend it doing the work; every hour I spend leaves a lasting result in your business. We keep going for as long as you find it useful. WORK BLOCKS ## Why not monthly? Is 40 hours a week? On a fixed monthly fee both sides are watching the wrong thing: you watch a fixed cost, the other side watches how many more contracts like this they can line up. Working by the hour puts us both in front of the same thing — the real value of the work that got done. I know not having an upfront answer to "how much will this cost in total?" is the natural cost of this model. But instead of paying a fixed fee for months to a setup that is not producing results, you only pay for the qualified time spent on your work — and you see exactly where that time went, start to finish. That is why my clients keep coming back. 5hours300€ + VAT60€ per hour[Choose this block](https://wa.me/905496546489?text=Hi%2C%20I%27d%20like%20info%20about%20the%205-hour%20work%20block.) 10hours500€ + VAT50€ per hour[Choose this block](https://wa.me/905496546489?text=Hi%2C%20I%27d%20like%20info%20about%20the%2010-hour%20work%20block.) 20hours800€ + VAT40€ per hour[Choose this block](https://wa.me/905496546489?text=Hi%2C%20I%27d%20like%20info%20about%20the%2020-hour%20work%20block.) 40hours1,400€ + VAT35€ per hour[Choose this block](https://wa.me/905496546489?text=Hi%2C%20I%27d%20like%20info%20about%20the%2040-hour%20work%20block.)
