# Google Ads for Conveyor Manufacturers: Parts, Projects and Export

[Oğuz Erol](https://oguzerol.com/en/about-me/) | 13 min read

A conveyor manufacturer’s Google Ads account needs two separate Search campaigns: one for parts and belting (belts, rollers, chain, pulleys) and one for conveyor system projects. The reason is volume. In the US, “conveyor belt” is searched 33,100 times a month, “conveyor system” 1,900 and “conveyor manufacturer” 1,600. In one campaign, parts searches eat the project budget. The second trap is running “conveyor belt” in any match type without negatives: in the US, “conveyor belt sushi” alone is searched 40,500 times a month, more than “conveyor belt” itself. I pulled these numbers from Google Ads Keyword Planner on 14 October 2026 (English, September 2025 to August 2026); Google rounds volumes.

## What do conveyor buyers search for?

Conveyor buyers search by type and, in English, often by industry:

| search | US / month | UK / month |
| --- | --- | --- |
| conveyor belt | 33,100 | 6,600 |
| roller conveyor | 4,400 | 1,000 |
| screw conveyor | 2,400 | 390 |
| conveyor system | 1,900 | 880 |
| conveyor manufacturer | 1,600 | 320 |
| conveyor belt suppliers | 880 | 480 |
| chain conveyor | 720 | 260 |
| food conveyor belt | 390 | 260 |
| warehouse conveyor system | 390 | 260 |
| modular belt conveyor | 320 | 140 |
| stainless steel conveyor | 170 | 90 |
| custom conveyor | 170 | 10 |
| mining conveyor | 140 | 20 |

Four decisions follow:

1. **Build ad groups by conveyor type**, each with its own ads and landing page.
2. **Use phrase (“roller conveyor”) and exact (\[roller conveyor\]) match** for system terms. For “conveyor belt” itself, phrase match still catches “conveyor belt sushi”; the negative list below keeps those out.
3. **Industry terms deserve their own landing pages:** “food conveyor belt”, “warehouse conveyor system” and “mining conveyor” are real searches.
4. **“Conveyor belt” mixes two intents.** Give it its own ad group in the parts campaign; if the search terms report shows mostly system buyers, move it to the system campaign, otherwise make it a negative there.

Robotics and PLC integration are covered on the [industrial automation advertising](https://oguzerol.com/en/industrial-automation/) page.

## Why do parts and systems need separate campaigns?

Parts and systems need separate campaigns because conversion, landing page and hours differ, and shared budget lets parts volume crowd out projects.

| | parts campaign | system project campaign |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Conversion | Call, message, size enquiry form | Quote request form, drawing upload |
| Landing page | Sizes and materials table, dispatch time | Type, capacity, references, engineering process |
| Ad schedule (set per campaign) | Hours someone answers the phone | Office hours are enough |

## What does someone searching “conveyor belt price” want?

Someone searching “conveyor belt price” usually wants belting prices, not a system price. In the US, “conveyor belt price” gets 390 searches a month and “conveyor system price” 70; system buyers ask for a quote. So don’t make “price” a negative in the parts campaign; send that searcher to belt prices. In the system campaign, send price searches to a page explaining what drives price: length, belt width, load, frame material, drive and controls. I have not researched conveyor prices; publish ranges only from your own quote history.

## Which negative keywords go in on day one?

Day-one negatives come in two lists: measured and logic-only. A [negative keyword](https://oguzerol.com/en/negative-keyword-management/) blocks a search in broad (all words, any order), phrase (“in quotes”, that order) or exact (\[brackets\]) match. Google says negative keywords don’t match close variants, so add singular and plural forms yourself ([Google Ads Help](https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/2453972?hl=en), 14 October 2026).

**Measured negatives** (US searches a month):

| negative | match | evidence |
| --- | --- | --- |
| sushi | broad | “conveyor belt sushi” 40,500 |
| “pizza oven” · toaster · dishwasher | phrase · broad · broad | 1,000 · 880 · 590 |
| “what is” | phrase | “what is a conveyor” 1,000 |
| used | broad | “used conveyor belt” 480 |
| diy · drawing | broad | 390 each |
| lego · toy · game | broad | 320 · 260 · 110 |
| jobs · technician | broad | 90 each |
| calculation | broad | “conveyor belt calculation” 90 |

**Logic-only negatives** (not measured): `pdf`, `calculator`, `salary`, `"second hand"`, plus plural forms of the words above. Drop the kitchen terms if you build for commercial kitchens or bakeries, and “used” if you sell used equipment.

## Sample ad headlines

A responsive search ad takes up to 15 headlines of 30 characters and 4 descriptions of 90 characters ([Google Ads Help](https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/7684791?hl=en), 14 October 2026).

| group | headlines |
| --- | --- |
| System | Custom Belt Conveyors · Send a Drawing, Get a Quote · Stainless Food Conveyors |
| Warehouse | Warehouse Conveyor Systems · Telescopic Loading Conveyors |
| Parts | Conveyor Belts Cut to Size · Rollers and Pulleys in Stock |

## How do you measure a conveyor quote request?

You measure a conveyor quote request by capturing the GCLID (Google’s ID for each ad click) in a hidden form field and uploading the result when the enquiry qualifies or becomes an order. The B2B steps and CRM stages are on the [machine manufacturer advertising](https://oguzerol.com/en/machine-manufacturer/) page; three conveyor notes:

1. **Make the form qualify the enquiry:** conveyor type, product and weight, length, capacity, industry, delivery country, drawing upload.
2. **Watch the time limits.** The click-through conversion window is at most 90 days ([Google Ads Help](https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/3123169?hl=en)). For offline imports, the click-to-conversion cycle must be under 14 or 90 days depending on the data source ([Google Ads Help](https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/7012522?hl=en); both 14 October 2026). The page gives Data Manager a 90-day window for file and Sheets connections and 14 days for Salesforce, HubSpot and databases; matching these to the requirement is my reading, as the page doesn’t link them. If the order comes later, Google may not attribute it, so upload earlier stages such as “qualified enquiry” and “quote sent” as separate conversions.
3. **If you don’t import offline conversions yet**, Google recommends starting with enhanced conversions for leads (matching on a hashed form email); set it up with your cookie consent.

If you are in Turkey: Turkey is not on Google’s forwarding-number country list ([Google Ads Help](https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/2382961?hl=en), 14 October 2026), so assume no call-length conversions for calls in Turkey; the page doesn’t say whether this depends on the advertiser’s or the targeted country.

## How should bidding start?

Start with Maximize clicks and a maximum CPC bid limit (the highest bid Google may place, not what you pay). With a handful of enquiries a month, Smart Bidding has too little to learn from.

- **Primary conversion:** at first, only quote form submissions and drawing uploads. Once GCLID-based “qualified enquiry” uploads run reliably, make that the primary conversion.
- **The parts campaign** can move to Maximize conversions earlier, once your order count and Google Ads conversions track closely.
- **Performance Max is not the first campaign.** You can add negative keywords to it, but they apply to Search and Shopping inventory only ([Google Ads Help](https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/15726455?hl=en), 14 October 2026); the bigger issue is that a few conversions a month give it little to learn from.

The most common mistake I see in Google Ads accounts is putting an unreal conversion, such as a page view, into the Smart Bidding goal. In conveyors that means making a catalogue PDF download the primary conversion: catalogue downloaders usually include students, and the system learns to find them.

## How much will the first month cost?

Your first-month budget is set by the clicks you can get; search volume is not clicks. **The rates below are assumptions for illustration, not data from a real conveyor manufacturer.**

**UK system campaign.** The system-intent terms in the table above (conveyor system, roller, screw, chain, modular, stainless, food, warehouse, manufacturer, custom) add up to roughly 3,600 UK searches a month. If your ads show on 60% of them and 8% of viewers click, that is 3,600 × 0.60 × 0.08 ≈ 173, call it 175 clicks. Keyword Planner’s top-of-page range for “conveyor system” was roughly £2.6 to £6.9 (converted from lira at the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye’s 13 October 2026 selling rate, 65.46 per pound). At £5 a click that is about £875 a month; extra budget cannot be spent.

| assumption | form rate 4% | form rate 2% |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Forms per month (175 clicks) | 7 | 3.5 |
| Qualified enquiries (half of forms) | 3.5 | 1.75 |
| Expected orders (1 in 6 enquiries) | ~0.6 a month | ~0.3 a month |
| Ad cost per order | ~300 × CPC (£1,500 at £5) | ~600 × CPC (£3,000 at £5) |
| Chance of no order in month 1 | ~53% | ~73% |
| Chance of no order in the first 3 months | ~15% | ~38% |

Probabilities are approximate: each enquiry independently converts at 1 in 6, with enquiry count held fixed (it varies in reality). Break-even: gross profit per order above 300 times your average CPC (at 4%) or 600 times (at 2%). Three months (about £2,600) without an order is a one-in-seven chance at 4% and close to two in five at 2%.

**UK parts campaign.** “Conveyor belt” (6,600), “conveyor belt suppliers” (480), “conveyor parts” (140) and “conveyor belt for sale” (140) give about 7,360 searches, roughly 350 clicks. At £3 a click (range roughly £1.7 to £4.4) that is about £1,050 a month; if 6% call and half order, about 10 orders at roughly £100 each. Optimistic: “conveyor belt” also draws system buyers. Both campaigns together: about £1,900 a month, £5,800 over three months, £11,600 over six.

**When to judge, when to stop** (my recommendation, not a measured threshold): at 0.3 to 0.6 orders a month, judge on qualified enquiries and cost per enquiry, not orders.

- **The parts campaign shows results within 4 to 6 weeks**; look at it first.
- **After month 3**, if the system campaign has fewer than 5 qualified enquiries (the 4% case expects about 10), don’t raise the budget; fix the landing page and form.
- **After month 6**, if 10 or more qualified enquiries produced no order, the problem is more likely quoting than ads (at 1 in 6, zero orders from ten enquiries has a ~16% chance); pause and review your quotes.

**Measuring:** cost per qualified enquiry = monthly ad spend ÷ qualified enquiries from ads; cost per order = the same spend ÷ orders from ads. Without the GCLID, keep a spreadsheet: ask every enquiry “where did you find us”, tag ad links with UTM parameters, log source, date, quote value and order status.

## Exporting from Turkey: which markets and which language?

If you are a Turkish manufacturer selling abroad, advertise in the language each market searches in: English in the Gulf, German in Germany. In Saudi Arabia, the highest of the Arabic conveyor belt terms I measured (سير ناقل) gets 30 searches a month (the others 10) and English “conveyor belt” 880; in Germany, “Förderband” gets 6,600 and English “conveyor belt” 2,400. Google’s help page says that starting September 2026 the campaign-level language setting will be removed for Search campaigns and the Search Network portion of [Performance Max](https://oguzerol.com/en/what-is-performance-max/), and search ads will match on the language of the ad ([Google Ads Help](https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/1722078?hl=en)). On 14 October 2026 the page still describes this as upcoming.

One term set per market (14 October 2026): conveyor system, manufacturer, roller, screw, chain and modular belt conveyor, or German equivalents (Fördertechnik, Rollenbahn, Kettenförderer, Schneckenförderer, Gurtförderer, Modulbandförderer, Förderband Hersteller). Clicks use the budget assumptions; the UK budget example (~175) also counts food, warehouse, stainless and custom.

| market | system and type searches / month | est. clicks / month | “conveyor system” upper bid, approx. |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| United States | 11,340 | ~544 | £18.85 |
| United Kingdom | 2,990 | ~144 | £6.90 |
| Germany, German | 5,600 | ~270 | £3.89 (Fördertechnik) |
| Germany, English | 740 | ~36 | £2.96 |
| South Africa | 1,080 | ~52 | £2.03 |
| United Arab Emirates | 520 | ~25 | £1.97 |
| Saudi Arabia | 490 | ~24 | £2.06 |
| Nigeria | 350 | ~17 | no data |

Bids converted at the 13 October 2026 selling rate. My reading: English campaigns carry in the US and UK, Germany only in German (~270 clicks). South Africa, the Gulf and Nigeria give about 17 to 52 clicks a month, small alone: use the local language, a parts-campaign ad group, or fairs and direct sales. I did not measure Arabic system terms. Pick your first market from existing export customers; I have not looked at export statistics.

In an export campaign, set location targeting to Presence; the default, Presence or interest, also reaches people elsewhere interested in that country ([Google Ads Help](https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/1722038?hl=en)). If you sell food-contact belting into the EU, the framework is [Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004](https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg/2004/1935/oj); its Article 16 requires a written declaration of compliance for materials covered by specific measures (original text; I have not seen the current consolidated version). The UK is outside the EU and has its own rules.

## What I need from you before building the campaigns

Tell me which conveyor types you build, whether you sell parts, your references, export countries and where quote requests are kept; that decides the budget split and first market. You can reach me from the [contact page](https://oguzerol.com/en/contact/).

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Should I bid on competitor conveyor company names?

Under Google’s ad policy, bidding on a competitor’s name as a keyword isn’t restricted by the [trademark policy](https://support.google.com/adspolicy/answer/6118?hl=en); using the name in ad text can be restricted if the owner complains. Legal risk is not assessed here. If you do it, use a separate low-budget ad group and keep the name out of the ad.

### Can I use Shopping ads for spare parts?

Every product needs a price that matches the landing page ([Merchant Center Help](https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/6324371?hl=en)). Fixed-price belts, rollers and chain can be tried; systems quoted to specification don’t fit. Check eligibility in Merchant Center.

### Should installation and maintenance be advertised separately?

In the US there is demand (“conveyor installation” 320, “conveyor belt repair” 880 a month) for a dedicated ad group. In the UK, “conveyor installation” gets 30; keep it in the parts campaign. Ad schedules are set per campaign ([Google Ads Help](https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/6372656?hl=en)), so for staffed hours only, give it its own campaign.

WHAT YOU CAN ASK FOR

## How do I work?
Work-hour packages

Tell me about your business and what you need on WhatsApp or by phone; we agree on **a work block of somewhere between 5 and 40 hours** and I start doing what is needed. What you get is not a calendar window — it is net working hours spent directly on your business. I can use 40 hours working three days straight, or deliberately spread it out and finish it over a year — whatever the work calls for. I do not spend my time estimating how long something will take, I spend it doing the work; every hour I spend leaves a lasting result in your business. We keep going for as long as you find it useful.

WORK BLOCKS

## Why not monthly?
Is 40 hours a week?

On a fixed monthly fee both sides are watching the wrong thing: you watch a fixed cost, the other side watches how many more contracts like this they can line up. Working by the hour puts us both in front of the same thing — the real value of the work that got done. I know not having an upfront answer to "how much will this cost in total?" is the natural cost of this model. But instead of paying a fixed fee for months to a setup that is not producing results, you only pay for the qualified time spent on your work — and you see exactly where that time went, start to finish. That is why my clients keep coming back.
